The summit of Mount Ham is seven hundred and thirteen kilometers high and allows a three hundred and sixty degree view of the surrounding area. There are over twenty one miles of well groomed trails and pathways available for the beginning or intermediate hiker. Families will find fun in the park’s built in obstacle course and picnic area. The park offers hiking, scrambling (a combination of hiking and rock climbing), snowshoeing, skiing, disc golf and camping to all visitors.

Mount-Ham offers plenty of overnight options as well for those looking for a more extended stay on the camp grounds. There are large cabins with great lookout views and spots designated just for tent camping depending on the campers’ preferences. There are also tents called prospector tents that will hold up to ten travelers and are available for rent through the park. All of the cabins are equipped with a handy woodstove so that travelers can do their own cooking. Cabins also come with two double beds, two single beds and a table to seat up to four people around.

The park hosts many different activities to help get the community out into nature. There are night snowshoe hikes offered through the entire winter into early spring. Pumpkin hunts are offered in October for families and there is a playground and obstacle course available for use anytime to encourage families to play and grow together.

For those that are looking to become members of the park and visit more often, there is a membership fee of just forty dollars for residents. If you are looking to try the park out for just a day the entrance fee is going to be about six dollars. The passes can be bought easily right at the visitor’s center. While at the visitor’s center be sure to check out the equipment up for rental. There are golf discs, walking sticks, snow shoes, and cleats for outdoor activities. To make yourself more comfortable within your tent or cabin you are also able to rent mattresses if needed.

The park itself has been developed specifically for the purpose of allowing all those in the area a chance to enjoy the beauty that nature has to offer, no matter what position in life they come from. The community within the park tries to gather a group of people that are creative thinkers and will be open to advancing the economic well-being of the park while at the same time preserving the wildlife of the area. There are many small townships dotted all around Mount Ham and all of them contribute to the economic success and welfare of the area.

The park is unique to the area because of the surrounding villages and importance that the park holds to the community. Mount Ham is a wonderful place to spend a day as a family or to lose yourself in the beauty of nature on a quiet hike in the mountains. Whatever way that you choose to enjoy Mount Ham you are sure to have a wonderful experience and leave with treasured memories.
